Climbers



Climbers and scramblers are superb additions to the garden. They form excellent screen plants for walls and fences, provide shelter from the sun when grown on pergolas and add interest and variety when grown on trees or amongst shrubs. Many produce colourful flowers and fruits, or are of interest for their foliage.
 


 
Stephanotis Floribunda


This evergreen climber, has dark green leaves and fragrant white star-like flowers in clusters during summer.  Doesn't withstand frost. 

Chinese Star Jasmine


This is a vigorous climber ideal for covering fences, walls.  Grows best in sunny positions with well drained soil.  Prune out congested branches in Autumn.  

Bambino bougs - Bougainvillea krishna


Bambino Krishna is a small bushy plant with masses of large mauve bracts.  Prune lightly after flowering and fertalise with with pruning.

Alec's Red



Alec's Red is a traditional rose with a large vibrant flower.  Prepare soil before planting and build up bed to improve drainage.  Keep plants moist before and after planting.

Pruning in July is recommended. 
 

Star Jasmine - Trachelospermum jasminoides


Summer Interest


Woody-stemmed, twining climber with oval leaves up to 10 cm long. Very fragrant, white flowers are carried in summer, followed by pairs of pods, up to 15 cm long, containing tuft seeds.

Ipomeoa Horsfalliae - Ipomeoa Horsfalliae


Summer Interest


Strong growing, woody stemmed, twining climber with leaves comprising 5-7 radiating lobes or leaflets. Stalked clusters of deep rose pink or rose-purple flowers, 6 cm long, appear from summer to winter.

Cherry Ripe - Allamanda Cathartica


Summer Interest


Fast growing woody stemmed scrambling climber that carries whorls of lance-shaped leaves.  Bears trumpet shaped cherry coloured flowers in summer and autumn.
