Ferns

Ferns are a very ancient family of plants: early fern fossils predate the beginning of the Mesozoic era, 360 million years ago.

They are older than land animals and far older than the dinosaurs. They were thriving on Earth for two hundred million years before the flowering plants evolved.

Nephrolepis Fern

Ferns are great house plants.  Soil must never dry out - keep moist at all times.  Spray with a fine mist occasionally.  A little fertiliser suitable for ferns added to the soil and applied regularly is beneficial.

Silver Lady Fern

This is a fast growing fern.  It needs a moist, shaded and protected position.  Looks great when planted in large pots for display.

Birds Nest - Asplenium australasicum

Evergreen fern.  Produces broadly lanc-shaped, glossy, bright green fronds in a shuttlecock-like arrangement.  Grows equally well indoors and out.
